Hi, my name is Tonia...

... but if you find it hard to pronounce or spell, you can just call me T.

As a human-centered ethnographer and interaction designer, I am passionate about people and focused on interfaces that create meaningful, usable solutions to problems. Armed with a Masters degree from the Information Architecture + Knowledge Management (IAKM) program at Kent State University, I currently work as a Senior Human Sciences Designer at General Dynamics C4 Systems. I founded the Phoenix local IxDA group and am currently the Regional Coordinator for all of the IxDA Local Groups in North America. When I'm not in the office or working on community-based projects, chances are you can find me involved in some serious karaoke, tap and hoop dancing, running obstacle courses, or perfecting my Ginger Ale recipe.

I believe in community.

Aside from IxDA, I am involved in various community activities including Smunch, a local monthly brunch meetup in the Phoenix area and a local tap troupe, Tap that Ass. I am also the Director of Community Outreach for Sailbear Labs, a 501c3 nonprofit focused on teaching students aged 12-18 filmmaking and storytelling and a leader for a local girl scout troop.
